Lately it feels like every big tech company has launched an AI helper. Meta has Muse. OpenAI has Dots. Anthropic just launched Claude Duet. And there's Grok Bot.
They all promise the same thing: you tell it what you need, and it goes and does it. So which one is worth your money?
We put all four side by side on one simple sheet. Here's the short version, and then we'll go row by row.

The quick verdict
Grok Bot is our pick. It's the whole package for $30 a month.
You get a team of helpers instead of just one. Each one has its own computer and keeps working while you're out living your life. Grok, AI images and video, and X perks come on the same plan.
It also launched first, about a month before the others. In my book, a whole month is like years in AI time.
Row by row
Price a month
- Muse: Free, or $20 a month for more use (there's also a $100 plan).
- ChatGPT Dots: You need ChatGPT Pro, which starts at $100 a month.
- Claude Duet: Comes with Claude Pro, $20 a month ($17 if you pay for the year). Max starts at $100.
- Grok Bot: $30 a month on the Premium plan.
Grok Bot isn't the cheapest. It costs more than free Muse or a $20 plan, and a lot less than the $100 you'd pay to get a Dot. Keep reading for what that extra $10 gets you.
Free option
Only Muse has one, and it comes with a usage limit. Dots, Duet and Grok Bot all need a paid plan.
Free is a nice way to test the idea. But helpers that work all day cost money to run, and that's why the rest charge.
Does tasks for you
All four can. That's what makes them agents and not just chatbots. They can click through websites and apps, and get things done for you.
Team of helpers
This is where Grok Bot pulls ahead.
Muse, Dots and Claude Duet each give you one helper. OpenAI says you'll be able to have more Dots later, but right now you get one.
Grok Bot gives you a team. You can give one bot your inbox, another your bills and another the family calendar. They can message each other and split up the work, so you're not stuck passing notes between them.
It's a bit like hiring a small crew instead of one assistant who has to do everything.
Works while you're away
Grok Bot, Dots and Claude Duet all keep working after you close your laptop. Grok Bot's helpers work around the clock on their own computers in the cloud.
Meta doesn't clearly say whether Muse keeps going while you're away, so our sheet says "Not stated."
Extras included
- Muse: just the helper.
- Dots: comes with everything else in ChatGPT Pro.
- Claude Duet: comes with everything else in Claude Pro.
- Grok Bot: your $30 also gets you Grok's newest models, AI images and video, and ad-free scrolling on most of X.
If you'd already pay for an AI chat tool or an image maker, Grok Bot gives you both in one bill.
Launched (2026)
- Grok Bot: Aug 11
- Muse: Sept 8
- ChatGPT Dots: Sept 29
- Claude Duet: Oct 21, as a waitlist preview
Grok Bot was first, about four weeks before Muse and ten weeks before Claude Duet. That's extra time with real users and real fixes. Like I said, a whole month is like years in AI time.
Best for
- Muse: trying an AI helper for free.
- ChatGPT Dots: people who already pay $100 or more for ChatGPT Pro.
- Claude Duet: Claude Pro users in the US who can wait for the waitlist.
- Grok Bot: running your week: work, home and money, all at once.
Why the $30 is worth it
- A team, not one helper. Every part of your life gets its own helper.
- Each bot has its own computer. The bots sign in to the tools you already use and keep working after you log off.
- Show it once. Let a bot watch you do a chore one time, and it saves the steps to do it for you next time.
- Lots of accounts, one place. One reviewer connected "all four of my Gmail accounts and all seven of my Slacks."
- The extras come with it. You get Grok, AI images and video, and X perks without paying for another plan.
- It's been around the longest. It's had more time to work out the kinks than any of the others.
Grok Bot is growing fast
I love watching this one take off. Here's how far it's come since August:
- Aug 11: Grok Bot launches in beta, only on the top-priced plans.
- Aug 21: It comes to more plans, starting at $100 a month.
- Aug 26: It reaches the $30 plan, just 15 days after launch.
- Aug 29: It can now connect to X.
- Sept 3: Businesses can sign up, and the launch waitlist ends. xAI said "thousands of organizations" were already using it.
- Sept 14: It has 418,000 weekly users, up 24% from the week before (Bloomberg).
- Early October: SpaceX says it has 800,000 paid weekly users, more than double the month before.
On SpaceX's Oct 20 earnings call, Elon Musk said: "I have never seen anything grow this fast." He also said people use it more each week the longer they have it, not less.
That's a lot of real people finding it useful, and a lot of feedback making it better. Remember, a whole month is like years in AI time.
What real users say: the good, the bad and the ugly
No AI helper is perfect, so here's what people are really saying. Every quote is word for word from a public post or review, with a link.
Grok Bot
- The good: "Setting up a new bot is incredibly simple." (How I AI review: https://www.chatprd.ai/how-i-ai/how-i-ai-my-hands-on-review-of-grokbot-cursor-origin-and-the-grok-46-model)
- The good: "With GrokBot, I can connect all four of my Gmail accounts and all seven of my Slacks, and my agents can work across all of them." (same review)
- The good: "Grok Bot is a genuinely fast agentic runner that earns its keep on bounded, well-specified, low-blast-radius work" (Benjamin Drake, Lesson Six: https://lessonsix.com/lessons/in-money/grok-bot-reviewed-61-tasks-3-weeks-and-the-meta-faba7c)
- The bad: "I found myself having to constantly approve cards for specific actions (like sending a message or an email), and those cards would expire quickly if not clicked, and then the bot would just forget about them and give up." (u/Bubbly_Sort849 on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/cursor/comments/1vxjipg/grok_bot_review/)
- The ugly: "They frequently fail, time out, error out, or just forget." (same Reddit post)
Muse
- The good: "Just negotiated my AT&T bill down $50 a month." (u/RaiderMike824 on Reddit, as quoted by Working Ref: https://www.working-ref.com/en/library/meta-muse-2026-10)
- The good: "Im not a very technically advanced person and ive found muse to be very useful so far." (u/Ok_Tadpole1661 on Reddit, via Working Ref)
- The bad: "And it is not free. I ran out of tokens" (u/theacorneater on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/AI_Agents/comments/1woxa3g/is_muse_actually_worth_trying/)
- The ugly: "Just found out it told people my address and agreed a lowball price and then they showed up without it even telling me until late tonight that it messed up" (Matt Robb on Threads, quoted by The Verge: https://www.theverge.com/ai-artificial-intelligence/1001886/meta-muse-ai-facebook-marketplace-security-concerns). Business Insider says this happened after an "Allow Always" setting was chosen.
ChatGPT Dots
- The good: "I found dots to be both deeply unsettling and incredibly helpful." (Zapier review: https://zapier.com/blog/chatgpt-dots/)
- The good: "It shows a wild amount of promise and is capable of genuinely useful things." (same Zapier review)
- The bad: "So far, it feels like a different presentation of very similar existing capabilities." (u/Kothyx on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/codex/comments/1wtv78c/i_dont_really_get_the_point_of_dots_how_is_this/)
- The ugly: "on day one, computer use is slow, calling doesn't work, access is patchy by region and plan, and app connections are hidden." (Julian Goldie: https://juliangoldie.com/chatgpt-dots/)
Claude Duet
No real-user reviews yet. It only opened as a waitlist preview on Oct 21, and Anthropic itself says it "still might misread a thread or miscalibrate what's urgent."
My take: every one of these tools has rough edges. Grok Bot's praise is about the big stuff: easy setup, all your accounts in one place, and real work getting done. Its complaints are fixable growing pains, and it's had the most time to fix them. So my advice is the same for any of them: keep approvals on and check its work.
Who should pick what
- Just curious? Try Muse free first.
- Already paying for ChatGPT Pro? Your Dot is included, so give it a go.
- A Claude Pro user in the US? Join the Claude Duet waitlist. Just know its background work uses up your Claude limits.
- Want real help running your week, plus Grok and image tools on the same plan? Grok Bot is the one.
One tip for any of them: let it write the draft, and you hit send.
FAQ
Is Grok Bot free? No. It starts with the $30-a-month Premium plan. The free and $8 plans don't include it.
Which AI helper came out first? Grok Bot, on Aug 11, 2026. Then came Muse (Sept 8), Dots (Sept 29) and Claude Duet (Oct 21).
Can I get Dots or Claude Duet today? To get a Dot, you need ChatGPT Pro (from $100 a month), and it isn't in the EU or UK yet. Claude Duet is a US-only waitlist for Claude Pro and Max members.
Can I cancel? Yes. Muse renews monthly and you can cancel anytime. For Grok Bot, cancel at least 24 hours before your plan renews.
Is it safe to let an AI helper act for me? All four ask before doing the big stuff. Keep approvals on for anything that involves money, your address or sending messages.
